Anoxygenic phototrophic bacteria
Koblížek Lab
Our team focuses on anoxygenic phototrophic bacteria. We apply high-throughput DNA and RNA sequencing, and high sensitive fluorescence microscopy for study ecology of anoxygenic phototrophs. In addition, we investigate utilization of light energy in laboratory cultures of phototrophic organisms and investigate the architecture of their photosynthetic complexes.
Centre ALGATECH

We have been studying photosynthetic bacteria since 2002 using biophysical, biochemical, and molecular methods.
We have isolated around 30 phototrophic strains from various areas of the world’s oceans.
